What is ARCI?
Autosomal Recessive Congenital Ichthyosis (ARCI) is a rare group of inherited skin disorders caused by mutations in genes responsible for the skin barrier. People with ARCI experience lifelong dry, thickened, and scaly skin, often accompanied by pain, overheating, infections, and reduced quality of life. While current treatments help manage symptoms, there is still no cure.
Living with Ichthyosis
For people with ARCI, every day begins and ends with hours of skin care. Painful cracks, overheating, infections, and constant discomfort affect nearly every aspect of life. Yet behind every diagnosis is a person with dreams, ambitions, and a life beyond their condition.
